A mobile court on Thursday fined five restaurants of Moghbazar and Mouchak areas Tk 7 lakh on charge of producing and selling substandard food items.
Dhaka district administration and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution jointly conducted the mobile court led by executive magistrate Abeda Ansari.During the drive, the mobile court found De Kosturi Restaurant of Moghbazar area and Ma Radhuni Hotel & Restaurant of Mouchak producing curd without certification from BSTI and other foodstuffs in an unhygienic condition. The court fined the both restaurants Tk 2 lakh each.
The mobile court also fined Three Star Hotel & Restaurant of Moghbazar area Tk 1 lakh, Café Grand restaurant of the same area Tk 1 lakh and Sohag Shad Hotel & Restaurant of Mouchak area
Tk 1 lakh for producing and preserving different food items in unhygienic condition.
