At least ten people were injured and 50 shanties and five shops gutted in a devastating fire at Fazilpur in Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.
Police said around 2:30pm suddenly the fire originated from a fuel shop and soon engulfed the adjacent slum houses and shops.
On information, three units of fire fighters from Mondalpara and Hajiganj rushed in and douse the flame after one hour of their effort.
At least ten people were injured while trying to douse the blaze.
The victims claimed the losses caused by the fire at Tk 20 lakh.
Ahsanul Kabir, deputy director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said we are investigating the reason behind the fire and its loss.
