At least six people were killed and 25 others injured when a microbus and a pick-up van collided head-on at Harbang under Chokoria upazila on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway yesterday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Amir Ali, 40, of Sonarpara in Ukhia upazila, Anwar Hossain, 60, and Shamsul Alam, 45, of Harbang in Chokoria upazila, Md Azam, 25, of Barobakia in Pekua upazila, Noor Mohammad, 50, of Boalkhali in Chittagong district, and Reng Pung To, 22, of Ruma upazila in Bandarban district.
Jasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chokoria Police Station, said seriously injured 10 persons were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and Chokoria upazila health complex.
