The Institute of Epidemiology, Diseases Control and Research on Sunday confirmed 63 cases of anthrax infection in last three days across the country.
The institute officials said the cases of anthrax infection were reported from Chitagong and Laxmipur districts.
They did not have any report of anthrax infection in Gazipur last week.
IEDCR director Mahmudur Rahman said the total number of anthrax infected patients in 21 Upazilas and one city in 12 districts rose to 583 till date.
According to IEDCR, 30 cases were reported from Lalmonirhat, 25 from Laxmipur, two from Sirajgonj, two from Kushtia, two from Meherpur and one from Rajshahi.
The government on September 5 declared a ‘red alert’ across the country over the spread of anthrax, but the following day said the disease was under control.
Some 26 cases of anthrax infection were first detected in Sirajganj on August 19.
Other places from where anthrax infection was reported are Pabna, Tangail, Kushita, Meherpur, Manikganj, Shatkhira, Lalmonirhat, Rajshahi, Chitagong, Laxmipur, and Narayanganj.
