The 74th meeting of the academic council of Bangladesh Open University was held at its Dhaka regional centre on Tuesday.
BOU vice-chancellor Syed Humayun Akhtar presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Pro-vice-chancellor (administration) Nasim Banu, pro-vice-chancellor (education) Mahbooba Nasreen and treasurer Mustafa Azad Kamal were present.
New 10 members for the academic council were nominated. Among them, nine members attended the meeting.
The new members are Sadeka Halim, dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dhaka University, Md Anwar Hossain Bhuiyan, Department of Geology, Dhaka University, Shahriar Nabi, dean, Faculty of Medicine, Dhaka University, Muhammad Javed Hossain,
Department of Plant Science, Dhaka University, Mubarak Aktar Md Yahia Khandkar, Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Subrata Kumar Aditya, treasurer and registrar (additional
charge), Sheikh Hasina University, Netrakona, Sohail Ahmed, Department of Bio-Chemistry and Biological Sciences, Faculty of Biological Sciences, Jahangirnagar University, Mokhlesur Rahman, Department of Civil and Engineering, Dhaka
University of Engineering and Technology, Gazipur, Zebunnessa, Department of Public Administration, Jahangirnagar University and Md Abu Raihan, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Islamic University of Technology, Gazipur.
A total of 40 members, including deans, teachers, controllers of examinations (acting), librarians (acting) and regional directors of different schools of BOU were present in the meeting.
The meeting was conducted by registrar and academic council secretary Md Shafiqul Alam.
