Hundreds of clients of IFIC Bank suffered as transaction at the bank remained suspended due to technical glitch at the core banking software of the bank on Wednesday, two day before the weekend, Puja and Eid holidays. No clients could withdraw any money through cheque or ATM booths till 6:00pm on Wednesday as the bank’s main server went out of network in the morning. There was huge rush of clients at almost all branches of the bank throughout the country ahead of the vacations but all of them failed to make any transaction.
An official of IFIC Bank told New Age on Wednesday that the clients of the bank had faced harassment as they were not able to transact ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and Durga Puja.
The clients usually make significant amount of settlement ahead of religious festivals like Eid and Puja.
He said that a significant number of clients waited for long before almost every branches of the bank as they failed to transact in due time.
IFIC Bank deputy managing director SM Abdul Hamid told New Age that the bank had solved the technical glitch of the software on Wednesday’s 6pm.
‘We have faced this type of accident in our bank for the first time. We have taken cooperation from the vendor concerned to solve the problem.’
The credit cardholders of the bank, however, were able to make transaction, he said.
Besides, the bank settled some transactions made by its familiar clients manually, he said.
