US-based company First Multipurpose Services and Bangladeshi communication agency Mattra, in association with the Export Promotion Bureau, will organise a trade show ‘Made in Bangladesh 2009’ in New York of the USA in October 2-6.
‘The five-day trade fair will be held at the Penn Plaza Pavilion Exhibition Hall of Manhattan,’ announced Hossain Jabbar, founder president of FMS, at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity in Dhaka on Sunday.
‘The responses we received surpassed our expectations at the Made in Bangladesh 2008, the first trade show of this kind,’ he said, adding, ‘We have extended this year’s show to five days considering the demand of participants, buyers and visitors. It was a three-day exposition last year.’
The objective of the exposition is to explore newer avenues for Bangladeshi exportable items to the USA market, he said.
Mattra’s managing partner Afzal Hossain said, ‘The trade show will attain more success in days to come.’ The TV-star said the fair would also contribute to be a place of interaction for Bangladeshis living in the USA.
Anisur Rahman Mahmud, chief executive officer of Mattra, made two multimedia presentations on the trade show in 2008 and the one planned for this year.
‘We are expecting an increased participation from more diverse product and service categories this year,’ he said.
‘Like last year, the organisers will arrange meetings between the participants and buyers/prospective buyers on the fair premises and provide business centre support,’ he said.
Channel i is the media partner of the trade show.
