The candidates for the post of chairman, vice-chairman and vice-chairman (female) have geared up their election campaign in all 16 northern districts under Rajshahi division for the upcoming January 22 upazila parishad polls. With only 10 days remaining for the local body election, the candidates and their supporters have been making efforts to attract supports of the voters.
Most candidates are found busy holding meetings with the voters braving the light to moderate winter chill since morning to late night. They are also taking part in processions in the afternoon. Some of them also use mikes and loudspeakers as part of their campaign. The candidates, supporters and their relatives have no time for rest as they have been putting in maximum endeavours by using properly the time left for the hustling.
Candidates and apparently neutral people said that peaceful atmosphere and cordial relations between the election candidates have encouraged a large number of people for being involved with poll activities. Supporters and followers of each of the candidates are also bringing procession with their respective candidate at different areas seeking blessings from the voters.

However, they are very cautious in maintaining the newly formulated election code of conduct this time in fear of cancellation of their candidature.
