Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) earned a net profit of Tk. 1015m in 2009 which was Tk. 241.30 million more than that of the previous year. In 2008 the net profit was Tk. 773.70 million. The growth rate of the profit of the Corporation was 31.190pc. In 2009 the total premium income of the Corporation was Tk. 5406.20m and total claims settlement amounted to Tk. 1322.20m. The Corporation paid Tk 277.50m as income tax and Tk. 200.00m as dividend to the Government. This was declared and approved at the Corporation’s board meeting in the city on Wednesday.
Md. Rezaul Karim, Managing Director of the Corporation placed the annual report of 2009 at the meeting. M Shamsul Alam, Chairman of the board, presided over the meeting. Members of the board of directors Md. Shahidullah Miah, Md. Humayun Kabir, Md. Wahidul Islam Chowdhury and other top officials of the Corporation were present.
