Eastern Bank Ltd (EBL) yesterday unveiled a new Visa corporate card in Bangladesh.
The EBL Visa corporate card is designed to make companies’ payments easier, said Mamoon Mahmood Shah, deputy managing director and head of consumer and SME banking of EBL.
Card users will be able to handle their official and personal expenditures while travelling abroad for business, said Shah in a press briefing at Sonargaon Hotel.
“We always develop products based on consumers’ needs,” said Ali Reza, managing director of EBL.
EBL has so far introduced 12 such products in the last seven years.
Global acceptance, ATM cash advance facility, comprehensive insurance coverage and global customer service are the main features of the card, said Nazeem Anwar Choudhury, head of cards.
Any member of the company’s staff, who needs to travel frequently for business purposes, is eligible for the card, said Choudhury.
For individuals, no annual fees are associated with the card. But companies will have to pay an annual membership fee for the services.
A company can reduce its relevant expenses by about 37 percent, thanks to the use of the card, claimed Choudhury.
