Ali Akbar Pormoslemi, the Iranian coach of Dhaka Abahani, pledged to play attacking football with an eye on the title of the Bangladesh League.
The 58-year-old Iranian arrived in Dhaka on Friday to explore the horizon of Bangladesh football. A FIFA licence holder and an AFC referees instructor Ali Akbar was the coach of Iranian first division team Pas Hamedan that finished fourth last year. Ali Akbar conducted his first training session with the footballers at the club ground on Friday.
‘I have to work a lot on the technique as the players looked weak in this sector, they looked amateurish in different sectors, my aim is to play attacking football with good ball control,’ said the coach.
He emphasised on quick reaction on the field. ‘This is very important, a player should know his duties on the field, I have seen many players are late in their reaction, I will work on it.’
The coach knows that Abahani has won the title of the Bangladesh League for consecutive three times. ‘Yes I am aware of it, now the club must look forward to sealing a place in the top bracket among the Asian clubs, I don’t think it is impossible,’ concluded the Iranian.
