The ICT fair at the Uttara Community Centre in the Rajshahi city drew a huge crowd on the concluding day of the fair on Saturday.
A large number of students from different educational institutions in the city thronged the fair premises to have an overview of the state-of-the-art technology.
The main attraction of the fair, which began on September 30, was the mega screen showing cinemas for students.
The children also had the opportunity to browse desktops and laptops and others up-to-date game instruments.
The fair featured a total of 12 stalls, each displaying computers and others ICT products.
There was also an information centre providing information for the visitor.
A visitor, Ruhul Kabir, lecturer at Rajshahi College, who visited the fair along with his family members, said this kind of fair is very important for the children as there are enough opportunities her to be familiar with the new technology.
He said, ‘I have come here with my daughter to give her information about modern technology and also to make her familiar with the ICT devices.’
Farhana Sumi, a Class VI student of Rajshahi Government Girl’s School, said she enjoyed the fair where modern technologies were on display.
The fair remained open from 10:00am to 8:00pm and the entry fee was only Tk 10 but students had free access.
Inpace Management Services Limited organised the three-day fair titled ‘Rajshahi ICT Fair 2010’. HP Imaging and Printing Group and Intel Corporation are sponsors of the fair.
Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman, director of Inpace Management Services Limited, told New Age that the fair would enable the people of Rajshahi region to get acquainted with the latest technologies including hardware and software.
The fair was opened Rajshahi panel mayor Sariful Islam Babu.
Leading IT personalities from all over the country and other distinguished persons of the city, teachers and students of different educational institutions attended the inaugural function of the fair.
