She always wears an alluring smile. One of the top ten contestants in beauty hunt Lux-Channel i superstar’06, Nafiza Jahan has gained popularity, especially among young generation, for her acting skills, beauty and, needless to say, her lovely smile. She has shot to fame with her role as a flirtatious woman in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s popular drama serial ‘420’ aired on Channel i in 2007.
Nafiza is now busy with a number of new drama serials. She is performing in a 26-episode serial directed by Saiful Islam Mannu and another drama serial directed by SA Haque Alik. she is also playing roles in Bikram Khan’s ‘Mess Member Abashyak’, and in two single-episode dramas ‘Hanif+Munmun=Honeymoon’ and ‘Dacktar Jawer Purbe Gulnahar Jagiya Uthilo’ dirtected by Sushsmoy Sumon.
Among some of the drama serials with Nafiza in the casts, Mostofa Kamal Raj’s ‘Graduate’, Ferdous Hasan’s ‘Khunsuthi’ and Sajjad Sumon ‘Ashare Galpo’ are being telecast on NTV, Mohan Khan’s Megho Botir Anchal on RTV, Idris Haider’s ‘Amader Sanghsar’ on ATN Bangla and Chayanika Chowdhury’s ‘Joto Dure Jai’ on Channel i.
Herself a jovial spirit, Nafiza is quite comfortable with comical characters. In the play ‘Dacktar Jawer Purbe Gulnahar Jagiya Uthilo’, she is playing the role of a newly-married woman Gulnahar, who never moves anywhere without her younger brother. She takes him along even when she is going for honeymoon. ‘When the three reach at a hotel an hires a double-bedded room, one for the brother and one for Gulnaha, there is no bed for my husband,’ said Nafiza with a laughter.
When asked about her future plan, Nafiza smiles again. ‘Well, at present I have some personal plans regarding my marriage, nothing else, for the time being,’ she said. Raised in Dhaka, Nafiza is all for arranged marriage and is leaving the entire process of her marriage to her parents.
