In a gracious humanitarian act, the cricketers of the Bangladesh national team came forward to help Dhiman Miji, a class ten student of BKSP, who has been suffering from a brain tumour.
All the members of the team donated a certain amount of money for an improved treatment of Dhiman and acting skipper Sakib al Hasan, a former BKSP student, handed over the money to the director general of the sports academy Brig. General MM Salehin.
‘We felt an urge to help Dhiman when we heard that he needs help, the players have some responsibility to help another player who is in need,’ said Sakib, who donated his entire $1,000 prize money for his man-of-the match award from the first one-day international against New Zealand.
Aminul Haque Moni, the director of BCB also donated Tk 10,000 to Dhiman.
