Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) launched bus service in the port city yesterday to ensure smooth transport for the commuters.
CCC started the service with 17 buses to ply on the busy route No. 10 stretching from Bahodderhat to Patenga Sea Beach. The buses will stop at four points–Muradpur, Dewanhat, Barik Building and EPZ, said the CCC officials.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of traffic department of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Md Faruque Ahmed inaugurated the service at a programme on Swadhinata Park premises at Bahodderhat around 10:30am.
Superintendent Engineer Abul Hasnat of CCC mechanical department and ward councillor Mohammad Sekander, among others, were present.
Faruque Ahmed stressed the need for ensuring secured transport system in the city.
