The Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) has decided to introduce six more disciplines to the existing 10 at its three regional centres in Chittagong, Khulna and Barisal.
The disciplines are wushu, karate and taekwondo for Chittagong, table tennis and badminton for Khulna and volleyball for Barisal.
The decision was taken at the 23rd board of governors’ meeting of BKSP at the youth and sports ministry with State Minister Ahad Ali Sarker in the chair, said a press release yesterday.
The meeting also decided to begin honours courses in Bangla, English and Mathematics under the national university curriculum. The meeting also decided to lease the Sylhet centre to Bangladesh Football Federation for five years on conditions.
