A young man died yesterday evening after being hit by a train in Shamantapur area of Gazipur Pourashava.
The deceased was identified as Mohabbel Hossain, 34, of Shoylapangsa village in Rajbari. He was a tobacco distributor of Abul Khair Group.
Police said Mohabbel was walking on the rail tracks with his mobile phone’s headphones plugged to his ears when a train hit him from behind, killing him on the spot, reports a correspondent from Gazipur.
An unnatural death case was filed with Joydevpur Police Station in this connection.
