The Civil Aviation and Tourism secretary, Shafique Alam Mehedi, on Monday inaugurated the seventh boarding bridge at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to ensure sooth movement of the passengers.
The boarding bridge was built in 30 months at a cost of Tk 14 crore with a view to ensure speedy exits and entrance of the passengers at the airport, the secretary said while addressing the reporters after the inauguration ceremony.
He said the government had taken some initiatives to remove harassment of the passengers in the country’s biggest airport.
‘We have instructed the authorities to improve quality of services at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at any cost. We will not allow any mismanagement in the airport,’ he added.
He also said stern action would be taken if any Biman officials or employees were found to have any involvement in corruption.
The Civil Aviation chairman, Air Commodore Maohmud Hossain, and managing director of Bangladesh Biman Mohammad Zakiul Islam were also present.
