Unidentified gunmen shot a rickshaw-van garage owner in the city’s Muradpur area around 2:00pm.yesterday.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Titu, 45, admitted to a private clinic at Maghbazar in critical condition as the criminals shot him pointing pistol at his head.
Witnesses and police said Titu came under attack while he was taking tea at a stall in front of his house.
A gang of four gunmen came to him and one of them shot at his head and later ran away leaving him wounded, said witnesses.
Kazi Aiyubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kadomtoli Police Station said they were yet to ascertain the cause behind the gun attack, but the attackers are yet to be identified.
Titu’s nephew Kabir said Titu is a member of anti-criminal committee in the locality.
