All seeded players moved into the pre-quarterfinals of the men’s singles in the Runner Group Victory Day Tennis Tournament after beating their respective rivals at the National Tennis Complex in Ramana yesterday.
Top seed Amol Roy got a walkover against Rafiqul Islam while second seed Alamgir Hosain, third seed Ranjan Ram and fourth seed Dipu Lal beat Channu Lal, Bashir Gazi and Mohiuddin respectively to book their seats in the pre-quarterfinals.
Apart from them, Anwar Hossain, Mofazzal Hossain, Rustom Ali, Delwar Hossain, Biplob Ram Mizanur Rahman, Laxman Lal, Jamil Bhuiyan, Raisul Islam, Milon Hossain, Bashir Gazi also advanced into the pre-quarterfinals.
In the women’s singles event, Sathi Sarkar, Ishita Afroz, Ayesha Sultana, Rip and Rebeka Sultana confirmed their quarterfinal births while Jamil Bhuiyan, Delwar Hossain, Sajip Pashi moved into the boys’ U-16 quarterfinals.
