Pop singer to follow in footsteps of Wills and Kate and Kate Moss and Jamie Hince
With Valentine’s Day just round the corner and Wills and Kate’s royal wedding on the horizon, cupid appears to be working overtime. Earlier in the week it was reported that Kate Moss was planning to marry her boyfriend Jamie Hince in the summer and now it is claimed that singer Lily Allen will tie the knot with partner Sam Cooper in June.
According to the Mirror, Allen has booked a church for the big day on June 11, although she is not planning to turn her big day into a celebrity free-for-all.
The couple, who lost a baby last year when Allen suffered a miscarriage, got engaged on Christmas Day and will get married near their home in the Cotswold village Overtown. But a source told the paper: “Lily doesn’t want a huge showbiz wedding, she’s simply not into all that any more.”
In 2009 Allen announced that she was taking a break from her music career and had no plans to make another record, although she did continue performing live up until last summer.
Since then she has ducked out of the public eye, and has not even been active on her preferred method of communication, Twitter, for several months.
At the start of the week the tabloid media went into a frenzy when another of their darlings, Kate Moss, was spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring and her father appeared to confirm the forthcoming nuptuals by saying that she would be getting hitched to boyfriend Hince “in the summer.”
