With the World Cup looming closer, Bangladesh have finally started to feel the heat, batsman Junaed Siddique told reporters in Chittagong on Thursday.
The Tigers are in the port city to play their first official warm-up game against Canada on February 12.
‘We are getting a feeling that the World Cup is close now. Our first warm-up match is just two days away with which we will formally start our campaign,’ said Junaed.
Saturday’s warm-up game provides Bangladesh an opportunity to show the world that they are a far superior side than their North American rivals and have totally buried the nightmare they had against them in the 2003 World Cup.
‘I was very young at that time. I have no memory of Bangladesh’s defeat against Canada,’ said Junaed.
‘I haven’t played any game against Canada, so I don’t know what to expect from them. But I am sure our team officials have some information and they will let us know it,’ he added.
