A schoolteacher was detained for his alleged connection for assaulting a 10-year-old girl in the port city yesterday.
The victim is a student of class five of C&B Colony Primary School.
Her mother Rajia Sultana said the teacher assaulted her daughter while she was teaching in his house. She said the teacher bite her daughter’s face.
But the teacher, Tapan Barua, 55, denied the allegation.
Hearing the news locals nabbed the teacher and beat him seriously.
Later, police went to the spot and detained the teacher.
