The new Bangladesh national football team coach Nikola Ilievski after his first practice session with the national team on Sunday expressed satisfaction over his pupils’ efforts and said they have all the potential to play better.
The Bangladesh national squad are currently training at the BKSP under interim coach Syed Golam Jilani for their World Cup qualifiers against Pakistan and they got their new coach’s guidance for the first time on Sunday.
‘The players are very enthusiastic. I hope they will do well,’ Ilievski told reporters after the practice session.
The coach, however, said he has no target regarding the World Cup pre-qualifiers since the preparation time is very short.
‘I don’t know the team
well and we did not get enough time to prepare. The first match is very crucial for me because I will make my plans based on the performance in the first match,’ said the Mecedonian coach.
Ilievski, who was a forward in his playing days, advised the players to play an attacking game and to concentrate on the ball possession.
‘He told us to play attacking game and to play with short passes staying close to each other so that we do not lose possession,’ said senior player Zahid Hasan Ameli.
