The students, who will take the Secondary School Certificate examinations in 2015, will have to answer the question for mathematics and higher mathematics in creative question method instead of the century-old descriptive-type.
The education ministry on Thursday issued a circular, signed by education secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury in this regard.
According to the circular, mathematics in the Junior School Certificate and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations will be taken in creative question method from 2014.
Mathematics and higher mathematics in the Secondary School Certificate and Dakil examinations (for students who are in Class VIII) will be in creative method from 2015 while those subjects in the Higher Secondary Certificate and Alim examinations will be in 2017.
In 2010, the creative method was introduced in two subjects — Bangla and religious studies — in the SSC examinations and then the method was applied for 21 subjects, except maths and higher maths.
