Abdul Hai Sarker was elected the chairman of Dhaka Bank recently, said a press release.
After doing an MCom at the University of Dhaka in 1970, he got involved in international trade and business and led Purbani Group.
Abdul Hai was also the president of Bangladesh Textile Mills Association, vice-chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks and director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
He is also a founder trustee of Independent University, Bangladesh, founder member of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh Enterprise Institute and an associate director of International Cotton Association based in Liverpool, UK.
He has also been named commercially important person by the government.
