A three-day exhibition titled Time in Frames featuring both paintings and photographs by noted artists and photographers is being held
at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi.
The exhibition has been organised by Jahangir Frameghor to mark its 10th anniversary of being in the business of making frames
for paintings and photographs.The exhibition features paintings and images captured in beautiful frames made by Jahangir Frameghor. Eighty entries by noted painters including Shishir Bhattacharya and famous photographers like Shahidul Alam, Chanchal Mahmud and Rashid Talukder are on display.
The exhibition also features paintings and images of Abir Abdullah, Rafiqul Islam, MA Beg, Kabir Hossain, Shafiqul Alam Kiran, Prito Reza, Masuma Priya, ASM Bulbul, Muntasir Mamun, Hasan Chandan, and others.
According to Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, the owner of Jahangir Frameghor, the natural texture of his frames has made them popular among the photographers and painters.
‘The photographers generally prefer slightly colourful frames while the artists want their frames as natural and neutral as possible,’ Hossain tells New Age in explaining the slight difference of choice for frames between photographers and artists.
The exhibition, which will remain open from 3:00 to 4:00pm till today, was inaugurated by vice chancellor of Dhaka University Doctor AAMS Arefin Siddique in presence of vice president of Sammilito Sangskritik Jote Golam Kuddus.
