Biman Airlines managing director and chief executive officer Kevin Steele in a statement on Tuesday cleared that Biman had not taken any decision regarding its property as recently some online news agencies reported some ‘misleading’ and ‘wrong’ news on the issue.
‘I can confirm that Biman is currently looking at its portfolio of properties, not just in Bangladesh but UK too. There are many options for such properties — continue to use, rent out, develop or sell. No decision has been made on any properties,’ he said.
The Biman chief said any proposal regarding to Biman’s property had not even been proposed to the Biman board yet, which must approve any such action.
However, he said Biman is an airline, not in the property
business, and ‘aim I have agreed with both the prime minister, and the Biman board, is to make Biman profitable, not just for one year (by selling our properties), but sustainable over many years (which may require some revenue from development of properties),’ he said in the statement.
