Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman made a modest start in the Selangor Masters at the Seri Selangor Golf Club in Malaysia on Thursday as he ended the first round’s play in joint-tenth position.
Siddik shot one-under-par 70 after the first day’s play in the $400,000 event, four shots behind Thailand’s Pariya Junhasavasdikul who topped the leaderboard after hitting five-under-par 66.
Siddik struck three birdies, one eagle and four bogeys on the opening day. The 28-year-old golfer from Madaripur started with a bogey in the 2nd hole followed by more bogeys in the 10th, 12th and 16th holes.
He also blasted an eagle in the 6th hole while he also smashed birdies in the 9th, 13th and 15th holes.
Siddik came into the 10th edition of the Selangor Masters on the back of a disappointing finish in the Queen’s Cup, which concluded last Sunday. He could only manage joint-eighth after initially rising to the top of the leaderboard.
