Chhayanaut artistes welcomed monsoon presenting songs, poems and dance recitals glorifying the season on Friday at its auditorium.
The programme was dedicated to Chhayanaut’s first president poet and social activist late Sufia Kamal whose 102th
birth anniversary was celebrated on June 20.
The audience enjoyed different genres of songs and poems with divers themes performed by well trained artistes. Spectacular dance recitals synchronised with monsoon based songs added more colour to the programme.
Artistes gave soulful presentation of some popular songs on monsoon composed by Tagore, Nazrul, Atul Prasad, Dwijendralal, Ukil Munsi and others.
Most attractive presentations of the evening were Khairul Anam Shakil’s rendition of Nazrul’ song Chancholo shymolo, Iffat Ara Dewan’s presentation of Tagore song Godhuli gogone meghe and Laisa Ahmed Lisa’s rendition of Atul Prasad’s song Badolo jhum jhum bole.
Noted classical singer Priyanka Gope captivated the audience presenting a monsoon based raga called Mia ki mollar.
Audience also enjoyed songs rendered by ATM Jahangir, Sifayet Ullah, Nasima Shahin, Bijon Chandra, Shamima Parveen Shima, Biman Chandra Biswas, Ajijur Rahman Tuhin and others.
Joyonto Roy entertained the audience through his recitation of Jibananada Das’ Brishtir jol. The audience also enjoyed Jahirul Haque Khan’s recitation of Sudhin Dutt’s poem Srabon Konya and Sumona Biswas recitation of the excerpts from Tagore’s Chhinno Patro.
The audience also got pleasure in group dance recitals sychronised with Tagore’s Eso shymolo sundoro, Bajramanik diye gatha and Nazrul’s Eso he sojol shymoghon, Rumjhum jhum badol nupur and Megher hindola.
