The International Cricket Council on Saturday formally expressed its concern over Bangladesh’s preparation for the ICC World Twenty20 in 2014.
‘The ICC reviewed an inspection report on the venues for the ICC WT20 2014 and expressed its concern regarding the progress of Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet venues,’ it said in a statement after the annual conference in London.
‘The Board noted that a further inspection and report is scheduled for August after which a final decision will be taken on the venues,’ the statement added.
The ICC was also updated on the ongoing investigations by ACSU in respect of the Bangladesh Premier League 2013.
It was advised that further investigative work needed to be completed before any action can be taken.
In the conference it was also decided that among the ICC events upto 2023 Bangladesh will host Under-19 World Cup in 2016 and World Cup 2019 qualifying matches.
