Former panel mayor Ajmol Ahmed Tapon took over on Sunday as the acting mayor of Khulna City Corporation as directed by a notification issued from the ministry of Local Government.
He will hold temporary charge until the newly elected mayor
Moniruzzaman Moni is sworn-in and takes over charges.Ajmol Ahmed Tapon, who is the president of Khulna Sadar thana unit of Awami League, was defeated by BNP-backed candidate Mehedi Hasan Dipu in the race for the post of councilor for ward 28 in the KCC election held on last June 15.
