At least three people died in road accidents in the capital on Sunday night and Monday.
At Merul Badda, Amjad Ali, 70, a farmer from Shariatpur, died in a road accident.
According to the victim’s son, Amjad Ali was hit by an oil tanker of Jamuna Oil Company on Merul Badda main road early Monday morning.He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died at about noon.
At Mohammadpur, an unidentified woman of about 32 was run over by a motor vehicle on Sunday night.
Mohammadpur police station subinspector Masudur Rahman said she was left dead on Iqbal road after being hit by a motor vehicle.
Her body was recovered at 12:15am.
At Kafrul, an unidentified middle-aged man died as a bus ran over him early Monday morning.
Kafrul police station subinspector Nurul Amin said the man was critically injured as a bus ran over him at the main road of west Kafrul.
He was then rushed to DMCH where the doctor pronounced him dead.
Nurul Amin, quoting locals, also added that the victim was mentally disabled.
