Grameenphone has extended its support to 300 victims of Savar Rana Plaza building collapse by setting up Flexiload business facilities for them.
Under the scheme, GP provided Flexiload SIMs, two mobile phone handsets and set up attractively designed kiosk for each of the 300 victims to start the Flexiload business.GP distributors will provide training on operational issues to support their business to grow.
Secretary to the Ministry of Labour and Employment Mikail Shipar and GP chief human resource officer Quazi Mohammad Shahed handed over the Flexiload SIMs and mobile sets to the victims at a ceremony at a city hotel on Thursday.
BGMEA president Atiqul Islam and senior officials from the Ministry of Labour and Employment were also present on the occasion.
The fund for this initiative has come from the donation of GP employees as well as from its corporate responsibility account.
Earlier, after Rana Plaza collapse, GP set up six free of cost phone booths adjacent to the Rana Plaza to give telecommunication support to the family members of the victims. It had also organised blood donation campaigns where its employees donated blood for the wounded.
