The first US beauty title winning Bangladeshi girl, Paromita Mitra, said she wants to work in Bangladeshi film and television commercials.
This came as the ‘Miss Mississippi’ was talking to the press in Dhaka Saturday.

Paromita and talked to her cordially.Paromita said she is interested to work in Bangladeshi film and TV commercials.
Paromita, along with her mother Ratna Mitra, arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The US beauty has come to her motherland for the first time after winning the ‘Miss Mississippi USA 2013.’
Earlier, she was awarded the ‘Miss Mississippi Teen USA 2009.’ She also represented the great state of Mississippi at the ‘Miss USA Competition 2013’ – known as ‘Miss Universe.’
Paromita said, “I want to work on Dhallywood and Bollywood films, if I get proposals from any filmmaker.”
She is studying Aerospace Engineering with a concentration on Astronautics at Mississippi State University. She is a member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), MSU Space Cowboys Rocket Design Team and MSU Fashion Board.
Paromita also worked as an undergraduate researcher for a NASA funded programme where she received 1st and 3rd place recognition both regionally and nationally for her research.
The Miss Mississippi is trained in piano, clarinet and drums. She also received consecutive highest ratings for piano with the National Festival of Music Club and was a clarinetist in Mississippi’s District Five Honour Band.
Mitra spent grades 1-12 in Hattiesburg’s Oak Grove school system. In high school, she was a cheerleader, a member of the speech and debate team, band, robotics team, in honours art and served as senior class president.
Paromita enjoys different cultures and travelling. Going along with her love of travelling, she visited overseas to her place of birth where she had the opportunity to teach cleft palette or lip patients about post-surgery precautions.
