Bangladesh Bank has asked non-bank financial institutions to publish their financial statements in one Bangla and one English newspaper on a mandatory basis.
To this end, the BB issued a circular on Tuesday to managing directors and chief executive officers of all NBFIs saying that the central bank had observed that some of the NBFIs published their balance sheet instead of financial statement in only one newspaper.
But, the NBFIs have to publish their financial statements in two different Bangla and English newspapers within seven days after submitting the statement to the BB as per the Bank Company Act 1991, the circular said.
On December 23, 2009, The BB had issued a circular to the NBFIs asking them to follow the Bank Company Act about their financial statements, the Tuesday’s circular added.
Besides, the NBFIs have to publish the financial statement on their respective web sites, it said.
The BB asked the NBFIs to follow the central bank circular and to inform it within seven days after publishing their financial statements in newspapers, the circular also said.
