Belgian hockey coach Michael Keenan is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka for the second time on July 31, as per his contract with the Bangladesh Hockey Federation under the Federation of International Hockey, BHF officials said on Wednesday. The FIH sent the high-profile coach as an advisor to the Bangladesh national hockey team earlier this year, but this time he will work with the Under-21 team. He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on August 7.
`The national team head coach [Naveed Alam] is working with the national team ahead of the forthcoming Asia Cup, so Keenan will guide the Under-21 team,’ Wing Commander
Rafiul Haque, representitive of BHF president Air Marshal Enamul Bari, said on Wednesday.
`He will also give some guidelines to our local coaches in his second visit,’ he added.
The BHF’s newly-elected governing body plans to educate local coaches and to send local coaches abroad for higher coaching certification courses.
Keenan toured Dhaka for the first time in January to work with the Bangladesh national team ahead of its participation in the second round of the World Hockey League in February.
