The Khulna City Corporation on Thursday announced its
Tk 345.4 crore budget for the 2013-14 financial year.
Ajmol Ahmed Tapon, who is carrying out the temporary charge as the city mayor, presented the proposed annual budget at a press conference held at KCC auditorium.Of the budget, Tk 94.59 crore has been shown as revenue expenditure in the proposed budget while Tk 250.46 crore has been shown as expenditure for implementation of development projects relying on government grants and foreign aid.
No new taxes have been proposed in the new budget for next financial year (2013-14).
The press conference was attended by all ward councilors, leaders of
different professional and development organisations.
The acting mayor hoped that officials and employees of the city corporation would work
sincerely and honestly with the newly elected mayor cooperating with him irrespective of political affiliation for the greater interest of the people of Khulna.
