The main Eid congregation in the Barisal city will be held on Hemayet Uddin Central Eidgah Maidan at 8:30am. The congregation is expected to be attended by lawmakers, BCC mayor-elect, panel mayor and other socio-political personalities, high-ranking government officials as well as general people and female worshippers. The Barisal central Eidgah authorities started decorating the venue for Eid congressional prayer, said Maulana Abdul Mannan, president of Jatiya Imam Samity, Barisal city unit.
Law enforcement agencies in the Barisal city have taken three-tire security measures before and after the Eid vacation to ensure safe observance of the festival and check crimes. These special arrangements have already started functioning and will continue till the opening of offices after Eid vacations and return of the Eid passengers, Md Shamsuddin Ahmed, said commissioner of Barisal Metropolitan Police.
Water and road transport owners were also asked to take helps from the highway and terminal police and guards deployed on vessels and raise awareness of criminal gangs of on-way robbery and doping, he added.
