The three-day divisional level Bhawaiya music competition in Rangpur ended on Sunday with participation of around 400 artistes from all eight districts of Rangpur division, said a press release.
The festival titled Banglalink Rangpur Bibhagio Bhawaia Utsab featured traditional performing art forms like pala gaan, bhawaia dance and bhawaia music competition, among other festivities.After many years of celebrations, this event now has become a scope of reunion and entertainment for the mass people of the region as well as for our country, said the release.
Bhawaia is a very popular form of song in the regional level. For many years now, the North Bengal part of the country has become famous for the practice of Bhawaia songs.
Bhawaia songs speak about various aspects of Bengali life. Hence, it is a common platform where mass people from all age, race, and religion and income levels participate, reads the release.
The festival draws participants from not only this particular region but fans from the corners of the country. Citing the local sources the release further claimed that during the three days event more than 40 thousand visitors attended.
Banglalink sponsored this event for the Fifth consecutive times. Banglalink Rangpur Bibhagio Bhawaia Utshob 2013 was organised by Sound Touch.
