The activity of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court was formally launched in Sylhet on Sunday.
Chief metropolitan magistrate Zahirul Gani started the formal activities of the court at about 11:00am when the district and session judge Mizanur Rahman, Sylhet’s chief judicial magistrate Abu Syed Md Dilzar Hossain, Sylhet judge court public prosecutor Misbah Uddin Siraj, additional public prosecutor Shamsul Islam and the district bar association general secretary Humayun Kabir Babul, among others, were present at the court.
Being contacted, the PP, Misbah Uddin Siraj, confirmed New Age of the inauguration of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Sylhet.
‘The legal activities of the areas of six police stations under the Sylhet Metropolitan Police would be run from now on by the CMMC, which would play a vital role in ensuring judgment for the judgment seekers,’ he added.
Misbah also said that installing the CMMC in Sylhet was a laudable effort of the incumbent Awami League-led alliance government.
The APP, Shamsul Islam, informed that the required manpower of the court was appointed.
‘Activities of the court will be run at a building of the district judges’ court until the construction of its own building is completed,’ he added.
