A woman in Barisal city handed over her teenaged daughter to the police on Sunday for her ‘reckless’ lifestyle. The Kotwali police officer-in-charge, Shakhawat Hossain, said the mother lodged a complaint with the Barisal chief judicial magistrate court on August 29 alleging that their daughter beat them up and escaped the house with the help of her boyfriend along with gold ornaments weighting around two tolas and Tk 11,500 cash as they denied to give her money for buying drugs.
The Barisal chief judicial magistrate, ATM Musa, issued an order to arrest the girl in this connection, the OC said.
Later Sunday afternoon the mother, with the help of others, nabbed the girl from a restaurant of the city and handed her over to the police, the OC added.
The Kotwali police subinspector, Asad, informed that according to the court’s order, the police sent her to the safe home.
