A National Policy Consultation Workshop on ‘Bringing Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Together: Towards Resilience’ will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center today. The UNDP Bangladesh is hosting the workshop in collaboration with the Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme of the government, said a UNDP press release on Monday.
Disaster management and relief minister Hasan Mahamood, Saber Hossain Chowdhury lawmaker, PKSF chairman Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Saleemul Huq, director of International Centre for Climate Change and Development, Ainun Nishat, vice-chancellor of BRAC University, and M Asaduzzaman, former BIDS research director, are expected to attend the workshop.
This event will also provide a set of forward looking actions for bringing climate and disaster risk reduction together to ensure resilient development.
