Two Grandmasters – Abdullah Al Rakib and Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan – shared the 2nd slot with 4 points after making a draw with each other in the day’s 5th round match.
FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Access Group made an upset beating GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Duronto Rajshahi in the day’s another match.
Country’s first GM Niaz Murshed of Dhaka Mohammedan is in the 3rd position with 3.5 points after beating Shafiq Ahmed of Golden Chess Club.
In the day’s other 5th round matches, FM Mohammad Javed of Access Group beat his team-mate IM Abu Sufian Shakil, FM Sheikh Nasir Ahmed beat his team-mate Jamal Uddin, FM Khondakar Aminul Islam of Access Group beat his team-mate FM Debaraj Chatterjee.
