The Barisal city mayor-elect, Ahsan Habib Kamal, is going to take charges of the city corporation from acting mayor Altaf Mahmud Sikdar today.
The city was decorated with the colourful billboards and photos of the mayor-elect on this occasion. The acting mayor, Altaf Mahmud Sikdar, also a BNP leader, was given farewell by the BCC officials Monday afternoon.
Ahsan Habib Kamal was the first mayor-in charge of the BCC in 2002 but was defeated in 2003 and 2008 BCC mayor elections.
