The 17th general meeting of the Asia Pacific Central Securities Depository Group was held in the city on Monday with the theme ‘Market Booms and Busts Experiences’ focusing on the role of central depositories. Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission chairman M Khairul Hossain inaugurated the session where 73 foreign delegates from 16 central securities depositories and four clearing and guarantee corporations of Asia Pacific participated, said a press release of Central Depository of Bangladesh.
Speakers from eight global financial institutions, including Deutsche Bank AG, SWIFT, OMGEO & AlfaSec Advisors Pte, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, JP Morgan Tokyo, OMGEO Philippines and Thomas Murray UK took part in the deliberation, it said.
The ACG was formed in November 1997 as an international association for promoting mutual assistance among member securities depositories and clearing and guarantee corporations in the Asia Pacific region.
