The main opposition BNP will observe hartal across the capital on Sunday to protest against the arrest of the party’s vice chairman and city unit Convenor Sadeque Hossan Khoka. The hartal will also be observed in protest against the implication of the party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, member secretary of its Dhaka City unit Abdus Salam and others with politically motivated and fabricated criminal charges. The announcement was made through a press statement signed by Ali Azgar Matabbar, joint convenor of Dhaka City Unit BNP. Starting from 6 am on Sunday, the hartal will continue until 6 am on Monday, said the press statement.
