International Hockey Federation president Leandro Negre arrived in Dhaka on Friday and expressed his excitement before inaugurating the first edition of the Security Bank School Hockey Tournament today. ‘More than 200 schools and thousands of students will be involved in the tournament so I’m very excited to be opening the tournament,’ said Negre before adding, ‘I am hopeful that Bangladesh will work hard to improve their position in world hockey.’
Negre will inaugurate the countrywide tournament today at Moulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium. State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Shikder and Deputy Sports Minister Arif Khan Joy will also be present in the opening ceremony.
