A fully equipped computer lab was set up at the National Cricket Academy building at Mirpur by the American International University-Bangladesh on Saturday as part of its ongoing partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. As the BCB’s official education partner AIUB arranges English language classes, leadership courses, cultural awareness and life skills classes and a variety of educational programmes including computer fundamental courses.
The beneficiaries of the BCB-AIUB partnership are the Academy, Under 19, High Performance and various age-group trainees and also the cricketers of the national team.
Carmen Z Lamagna, vice-chancellor of AIUB, and Nizamuddin Chowdhury, acting chief executive officer of the BCB, were present, among others, on the occasion.
AIUB will provide technical and maintenance support to the lab, the university said at a press conference.
