The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry has awarded three businessmen for their significant contribution to respective fields.
The BMCCI Excellence Award 2013 was given at a ceremony at Westin Hotel in the capital on Monday. BMCCI president and Green Delta Insurance adviser Nasir A Choudhury and two former presidents of BMCCI Salahuddin Kasem Khan of AK Khan Company and Abdul Matlub Ahmed of Nitol-Niloy Group got the award this year.
Nasir got the award for his contribution to insurance business, Salahuddin for bringing foreign investment and Abdul Matlub Ahmed got the award for his performance in export-import business.
While speaking on the occasion, Malaysian high commissioner Norlin Binti Othman said Bangladesh and her country shared an excellent business environment.
‘The perception of people that Bangladesh and Malaysia has only worker issue but the fact is we have very good business relation. Malaysian businessmen invested huge amount in telecom, IT and power sector in this country,’ she said.
BMCCI board members and former presidents were also present on the occasion, among others.
